1997 TEAM AWARDS
At the end of each season the Regian Rams take
some time to honor their "OWN". the following individual awards
are given out annually to the players most deserving, as chosen
by the coaching staff.
• Regina Rams Gordon Currie Award - Presented
to the "Individual who exemplifies the qualities of Leadership,
Fellowship, Perserverance and Dedication to his team".
Brent Nicholas
• Crestview Chrysler "Ram Tough" Award
- Presented
to the "Outstanding Linebacker".
Jeff Zimmer
• Bazzar & Novelty Trophy - Presented to the "Leading Scorer".
Todd Pinkney
• Doug Griffith Memorial Trophy
- Presented to the "Outstanding
Defensive Back" Donated by the Griffith Family in recognition
of Doug, who played with the Rams from 1966-69.
Chris Frankowski
• Mr. Lube Award - Presented to the "Outstanding Receiver".
Jason Clermont
• Brennan Supply Award - Presented to the "Most Outstanding
Special Teams Player".
Todd Pinkney
• Les Ludwig Memorial Award - Presented to the "Most Outstanding
Offensive Back" Donated by the Regina Real Estate Association
in recognition of Les, who played for the Rams from 1973-76.
Cory Olynick
• Barker's Trophy - Presented to the "Most Outstanding Offensive
Lineman".
Brent Nicholas
• Don Tingle Award - Presented to the "Most Outstanding Defensive
Lineman".
Brent Dancey
• Grothe-Barber Man's Shop Award - Presented to the "Defensive
Point Leader".
Jeff Zimmer
• Molson's Rookie of the Year Award - Presented to the "Most
Outstanding Rookie".
Dean Lang
• Kenridge Man's Award - Presented to the "Most Valuable Player" as
chosen by the players.
Chad Ehman
• Scotty Livingstone Award - Presented to a second year post
secondary institution student that displayed potential and those
qualities of leadership, commitment and loyalty to the Rams
Program.
Jason Clermont
