Rams Receive Three Commitments, Two Spring Camp Attendees

REGINA, Sask. - University of Regina Rams head coach Frank McCrystal announced Wednesday that the team has received commitments from three players for the 2007 season. DL James Moore, QB Marc Mueller, and OL David Stefanuk will all join the Rams in time for the upcoming season.

WR Lee Forsberg and DB Todd Kristoff, who both played for the Regina Thunder of the Prairie Football Conference last season, will be attending the Rams' spring camp.

At 6'1" and 255 lbs., Moore was the starting centre and defensive tackle for the St. Michael's College Kerry Blues in Toronto. St. Michael's was the winner of the 2006 Metro Bowl, greater Toronto's senior high school football championship. Moore will concentrate on the defensive side of the ball as a Ram, where he'll suit up on the defensive line. He was credited with 13 solo tackles, 15 assisted tackles, and one sack for the Kerry Blues during the 2006 campaign.

Mueller quarterbacked Sheldon-Williams Collegiate to the 2006 Saskatchewan 4A high school championship, guiding his Spartans to a 24-23 victory over Saskatoon's Evan Hardy Collegiate in the championship game. Mueller (5'10", 175 lbs.) completed 102 of his 167 passes during 2006 for a 61.1% completion rate. He threw for 1828 yards and 16 touchdowns while surrendering just three interceptions.

David Stefanuk, who hails from Monarch, Alta., currently attends Catholic Central High School in Lethbridge. At 6'2" and 258 lbs., Stefanuk was a key member of the offensive line of Catholic Central, which reached the quarterfinals of the 2006 Alberta Tier II high school
playoffs. Catholic Central had an 8-3 record during the 2006 season. Stefanuk also spent three seasons with the Lethbridge Stampeders bantam team.

Forsberg, a receiver weighing in at 5'11" and 180 lbs., was named the Thunder's 2006 Receiver of the Year despite battling injury problems. Kristoff, a 6'0", 190 lb. defensive back, will join Forsberg at spring camp. Kristoff ended up in a tie for fifth in the PFC with 41 solo
tackles last year, and was also credited with 18 assisted tackles, four sacks, one fumble recovery, and one interception. He was the recipient of the Thunder's 2006 Coaches Award.

The Rams' spring camp will open on April 27.
